Product Development Manager

  • An exciting opportunity to join a strong and committed team working on a product seeing exponential and global growth.

    We are now looking for a technologist to sit in the middle of a talented and diverse development team to coordinate and complement internal and external resources.  The role will report to the Chief Engineer.   We are happy to hear from a junior or mid-level technologist with a versatile skill set (hardware and software).  Our product development embraces several engineering disciplines (software, hardware, mechatronics, civil engineering).  We are not looking for someone who knows everything.  We welcome applicants with the ability to break down complex problems and be able to find solutions and resources in areas outside their direct areas of competence.  We are looking for a hands-on mindset, able to build, try and adapt, and look for solutions internally and externally.

    Working remotely, with periodic visits to our lab at the Surrey Technology Centre.  The travel requirements may suit someone in commuting distance from Guildford or Warwick conveniently, but we are not looking for someone from these areas alone.

  • – Experience and understanding of hardware and software product development from research, specification, design, industrialisation, prototyping, agile project management and pilot deployments.

    – Background in mechatronics, electronics, embedded software essential

    – Working knowledge of relevant software and programming/system design and implementation

    –Working knowledge of rapid prototyping and small batch manufacture and deployment, JIRA and agile project/product management

    – A good understanding of software architecture design and ability to work with internal and external developer resources.

    – A good understanding and interest in robotics and computer vision, though advanced knowledge in these areas is desirable but not necessary.

    – Relevant qualifications and experience (desirable, preferably in lean/start-up environments) in mechanical engineering, or electronic engineering.

    – Ability to coordinate and work with internal and external development resources; create and manage the delivery of workflows from a product development plan.

    – Strong skills at creating and maintaining documents and reports related to the product development cycle (specifications, bills of materials, drawings, manuals, standards compliance etc.)

    – Agile project management skills

    – Leadership qualities desirable and will find opportunities for a growth into a management role, potentially at C-level.

    – Desirable academic background : mechatronics, robotics, electronics, embedded software

    – Working familiarity with SolidWorks, C/C++, Python, Linux.

    – Comfortable with developing on RaspberryPi, Arduino, Jetson and other development platforms for prototyping and small batch deployment

    – Interest in transport, automotive and sustainable industries.

Head of Human Development 

  • MOLE is looking for a Head of Human Development who will partner closely with the leadership team as we grow our organization.

    The role offers a fantastic opportunity beyond the delivery of traditional HR functions for a small team. It is a blank canvas, and an invitation to work with the CEO to shape the organization in its formative days – culture and processes across recruitment, compensation, performance and engagement.     The focus of this role is to assess, coach and influence the business as we scale and evolve to enable our teams to perform and develop. At MOLE, our vision is to nurture a very particular team culture. This is about who we are and how we operate. We need someone who is just as passionate about the culture as they are about their core responsibilities as an HR Leader. The ideal candidate is a builder – Someone who can come in with a willingness and an ability to build HR Operations and Programs from the ground up. You will own and heavily influence everything from Career Mapping and Performance Management programs, to bonus & incentive planning and employee onboarding/offboarding.

  • – Function as a hands-on, strategic partner to the leadership team while designing and implementing a scalable HR strategy

    – Total rewards program administration

    – Develop, implement, and maintain performance management and talent review processes

    – Participate in the shaping and development of our organisation and culture

    – Maintain a deep understanding of the business and culture inside and out so that you are able to provide strategic HR partnership to the business leaders and the teams you support

    – Own the evaluation and maintenance of HR systems related but not limited to performance management, employee engagement, onboarding/offboarding, compensation, and benefits & perks

    – Lead and execute our immigration strategy and systems, ensuring MOLE employees and candidates feel safe and supported through the visa application and renewal processes

    – Act with the employee experience top of mind, continuously seeking feedback, inefficiencies, and maintaining business relationships based on trust and respect

  • – 5+ years of experience in HR

    – 2+ years in an HR Leadership role is desirable

    – Experience owning HR Operations in a high-growth, fast paced startup environment is highly desirable

    – Global employment law compliance knowledge

    – Experience partnering with international, distributed teams

    – Well versed in various leave policies and creating an HR manual

    – Analytical expertise; proficient with data-driven analysis as it relates to HR/People

    – Deep understanding of the complex tax, legal, comp and immigration issues related to benefits

    – Exemplary communication ability, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively influence

    – A vision and desire to execute the most forward looking human development program

    – Interest in transport, automotive and sustainable industries.
